A Claim on Abigail

A Contested Claim
Brall’s demand
Brall approaches Abigail in a Temple shop and argues that taking her would prevent bloodshed. His proposal is not neutral diplomacy: he expects possession to settle the dispute.
Abigail’s refusal
She answers with a knife and rejects his authority over her. The encounter makes plain that desire, political leverage, and gang territory are already entangled.
Her refusal delays Brall’s claim but cannot remove its consequences. With Titus dead, the protection that once kept this confrontation contained has weakened.
Abigail’s Initiation

A Provocation Becomes Public
The chosen rite
Abigail asks Carthage to arrange her Cauldron initiation, intending to use the event to unsettle Case and reshape the Family’s choices. Carthage accepts the request without understanding its full political purpose.
A public breach
The ceremony claims Abigail for the Cauldron in the eyes of both gangs. Brall participates, then recognizes that the act has made conflict harder to avoid.
What Abigail intends as leverage becomes a public injury to the Family. The initiation shifts the conflict from threat and negotiation toward retaliation.
Carthage’s Ambush

Retaliation on the Road
A calculated attack
Troy leads a small group that intercepts Carthage near Cauldron territory. The attack is swift and leaves Carthage dead, giving the Cauldron an unmistakable reason to answer with force.
Brall’s response
Brall orders pursuit but remains with his people, understanding that the attack has changed the conflict’s scale. He now treats the Family as responsible, regardless of which leader gave the order.
Carthage’s death removes Brall’s closest adviser and turns a volatile rivalry into open war. Personal loss and political retaliation become inseparable.
The Spring Assault

A Fight for Water
The Cauldron advances
Brall’s force attacks the spring, overcoming its Family defenders and taking prisoners. The water source gives the Cauldron a strategic advantage over a settlement whose supplies are under threat.
A captive discovered
Inside the captured site, Brall finds Robin tied up under Troy’s guard. Her presence changes the victory’s meaning: the attack has also opened a way to recover a person caught in Troy’s power.
Control of water turns military momentum into leverage. Brall’s decision to free Robin will also alter the personal stakes of the war.
The Peace Arrangement

An Alliance After Violence
Open battle
The rival forces assemble under agreed terms while Sandra exposes Troy’s crimes. His defeat and death remove the chief obstacle to cooperation between Case and Brall.
A lasting bargain
After the peace ceremony, the leaders assign their groups complementary work and sign the Temple Accord. The settlement depends on both sides continuing to benefit from the arrangement.
The alliance does not erase the deaths that preceded it. Instead, it turns a costly conflict into a shared structure for defending and governing Temple.
